Archives for the month of: January, 2010

I have something which just extremely bothers me for a pretty long time. I have always wondered why we always assume that those who are busier and under more stress are normally deemed to be more valuable. It has always been something like a huge inner-debate thing.

At times when I see myself being so free and just easy, I actually feel a sense of being uncomfortable. It’s this feeling of  just discomfort whenever I see other people being busy and I’m just relaxing. I sometimes wonder why other people just love being busy. I would definitely say it’s not luck, because we all have a choice in life.

We all have plenty of choices in everything in our lives. We might face situations where we think that our choices are limited but if we were to think in a deeper perspective, it is just because we have a limited perspective on the situation.

I guess that’s what my life is all about at the moment. Doing things in my own way, at my own pace. Just living life based upon the values and things which I really care about.

I had this epiphany a few years ago that I really didn’t have to follow others in doing what they do.  There is no need for me to stress. No need for me to just conform just because other people are doing the same. I tell myself that I have the choice to live the life I desire and believe in the things I believe. I am constantly now in a state of self-referral. It means that I just live my life according to my vision of who I am and the person I want to become. I am not afraid to be confronted by other people who would label me as being naive or uncaring. I am just me.

I guess that’s what my spiritual strength has brought me to in the couple of years. The desire to just be who I am.

I thoroughly do not believe that life should meant to be a struggle. If you are struggling at the moment, take the time to really think it through. Ask yourself if you should really struggle. Many times, we buy ourselves into conclusions because we just don’t take time to just reflect and really think things through. I had, and I came out with my own conclusions.

I believe that success in life is measured by the joy we have in a consistent basis.

For me, joy is the measure of success. It is found in my meditations, in my sudden insights and the fact that I do things which I really love.

For me, there is no such thing as getting far in life. We can’t get far in life. We can only get to where we want to. We do not get what we want, we get what we are.

I don’t believe at all that life is meant to be a struggle. That is one of the biggest myth that we all have to dispel to live a life of greater joy and fulfillment.

I don’t believe that we do not have a choice in life. Everything is as perfect as it is in the present moment. It is jut our inability to be happy in the present moment that we constantly try to change things. When we learn how to be still in the present and not just run away from it, we have a sense of peace and inner joy; something which is just extremely lacking in our society in the present.

I realize that most of us (I am no exception whatsoever) are always in this state of finding things to do.

Whenever we are free or relaxed, we are just totally not used to it. I realize this even more ever since I enter the workforce. Since my work also allows me to control the majority of my time, I believe mine is a tad bit tougher than most of the employed jobs because I would have to manage myself consistently.

I would have done something and then subsequently felt like I wasn’t productive or the day’s work wasn’t enough. It often made me very unsatisfied and doubtful everyday. I would have thoughts like,”I should have done more” or “I need to improve on this and that” or “I need to spend more time focusing on this”. The whole cycle of feeling I should and must do more.

I feel that this is in its part a great limitation. I feel that most of us are conditioned in such a way to actually find fault with what we have done. We are not pleased with our effort. We are always in a state of tension and stress and wanting to move away to another situation. We just don’t know how to accept what we already have done.

We have to realize that what’s done is finished. We would just have to accept that we have done all that we could do.

We could always put in more effort but that is it, we already done all that we can do.

Learn to slow down and not rush. It brings more productivity and more quality to our lives.
